Is SAT Climb free?
Two parts of it are, and the rest is not. Plenty of prep tools say free and mean trial, so here is the whole answer on one page before you give anyone an email address.
What is actually free
The 30-question diagnostic
Free. No account, no card.A 30-question digital-SAT-style test that takes about 25 minutes and gives you an estimated score and a read on which areas are costing you points. You see the result immediately, and you never enter payment details to get it.
The catch, stated: It is measured at the domain level, not per skill. Thirty questions cannot resolve 31 separate skills, which is under one question each. The adaptive diagnostic inside the app is the one that narrows it to all 31.
The 7-day trial
Free for 7 days. Card required up front.Full access to everything: the adaptive diagnostic across all 31 skills, the mastery grid, skill and section drills, mini mocks and full-length mock exams. Nothing is held back during the trial.
The catch, stated: You enter a card to start it, and it becomes a paid plan automatically at the end of day 7 unless you cancel first. Cancelling during the trial ends your access straight away rather than at the end of the week, because a trial has not been paid for.

- Partly, and here is exactly where the line is. The 30-question diagnostic is free forever with no account and no card. Everything else sits behind a paid plan that starts with a 7-day free trial, and that trial does require a card. There is no permanently free practice plan.
- Do I have to enter a card to see my score?
- No. The 30-question diagnostic asks for an email so we can send your result, and nothing else. You get your estimated score and your weakest areas without paying anything or creating an account.
- What does SAT Climb cost after the trial?
- $25 per week, $60 per month, or $120 for three months. You pick the plan when you start the trial and the first charge lands at the end of day 7.
- What happens if I cancel during the trial?
- You are not charged, and your access ends at the point you cancel rather than running to the end of the week. That is deliberate: a trial has not been paid for, so there is no paid period left to use up. If you cancel a plan you have actually paid for, you keep access to the end of that billing period.
- Is there a free plan?
- No. There is a free diagnostic and a 7-day free trial, but no permanently free practice tier. Saying otherwise would be the kind of thing this page exists to avoid.
- Why is the free diagnostic domain-level and not skill-level?
- Because 30 questions genuinely cannot separate 31 skills reliably. Claiming it could would be a nicer sales line and a worse answer. The adaptive diagnostic inside the app asks harder or easier questions based on how you are doing, which is what makes per-skill resolution possible.
